The YMCA program made the process of writing my business plan so easy. Before working with them I would have never thought I could write my own business plan. They guided me through every step of the process and worked around my schedule. They were kind, patient, and nonjudgmental. It was a great experience for me!
The business plan that I completed with the YMCA program was more of a road map for how to run my business. It laid out what products to carry, what customers to target with my advertising, how many employees I needed and so on. Having a business plan also allowed me to apply to loans to start up my store. Without it would have been much harder to obtain funding. They also put me in touch with organizations who offer funding to entrepreneurs. I probably would not have FiberLilly it were not for the help of the YMCA.
The YMCA program was an integral part of my company’s initial and continued success. The advice and guidance I received was more valuable then I imagined it to be. When writing my business plan they showed me that they cared by breaking the process down into smaller components and helping me understand each before moving forward. Not only did they help me understand the meaning of a good business plan, they helped me understand my business idea how to get it on paper. Without the YMCA program, I would have had no idea where to start and how to write a professional, successful business plan. I'm happy to say that I'm able to operate my business everyday with the model developed with help from the YMCA.
Anyone that can, should take advantage of any assistance made available to them via the YMCA. You'll be glad you did.
I went to the YMCA for help with my business plan in 2012. They guided me through all the necessary steps in preparing my business, reviewed my progress on a weekly basis, and helped to iron out the kinks that I needed help with. They encouraged me to apply for government financing and helped me with finding out what I qualified for. Fast forward three years and my business is thriving! It is growing every year and without the help of the YMCA, I would not have been able to put together the paperwork necessary for my loans and startup costs!
Thank you for providing such a wonderful service and being so professional throughout the whole process! I highly recommend this program to anyone needing help, guidance, and/or support in reaching your business goals.

When I decided I wanted to make the leap and start my own Nutrition Consulting business, I knew I would need help with my business plan.
I contacted Denise Cornick at the YMCA and immediately we started meeting on a weekly basis. She was able to help me start my plan, budget and help me with my target market.
Without her, I would have been very overwhelmed with all the decisions I would have had to make on my own. My Nutrition business, Healthy Blossom just celebrated its 2nd Birthday and I am very thankful for the YMCA pointing me in the right direction.
